quitting is an understatement. i’m actually burn

quitting is an understatement. i’m actually burning my business to the ground 🔥

when i was a kid, i was always told that quitting was bad. like the worst thing i could do was to not finish what i started. that i’d be letting everyone around me down if i didn’t do what i promised.

i wanted to quit soccer ⚽️ and basketball 🏀 but it was a hard no 🚫
i wanted to quit tee ball 🥎 but i had to resort to picking dandelions in the outfield 🌼
i wanted to quit cheer 📣 but instead i purposely bombed my 8th grade tryout so i wouldn’t make it the team.

(at some point you’d think that my parents woulda realized that sports are just NOT my thing, right?! i mean honestly, a girl can only fall on her face in front of the ENTIRE 7TH GRADE so many times 🤦🏻‍♀️)

i get it though... sports are expensive and you gotta’ teach kids those valuable life lessons “one must always follow through on their commitments.”

but at the same time, i can’t help but feel like i missed out on an even bigger life lesson...

that quitting is okay.
that quitting is good.
that quitting is necessary.

here’s the “life lesson” i wish i would’ve learned instead: ✨ doing the best you can is always enough ✨

this is something i’ve battled my entire life. and i know i’m not alone because i hear it over and over and OVER again from friends. and family. and clients.

this lesson is at the root of perfectionism
of "comparison-itis"
of "shiny object syndrome"
of changing our niche eleventy billion times

they’re all the coming from the same place – from not feeling good enough to follow through, but feeling like quitting is never an option. because that would mean that you couldn’t hack it. and now you’re a failure. right?
