Owner + Creative Director (Self-Employed)
Nov 2016 – Present (5 yrs 7 mos)
Filament Branding is the creative branding and digital marketing agency I built from the ground up. I work with small to mid-sized businesses (SMB) to create targeted marketing strategies that increase online awareness, optimize client acquisition through automation/funnels, and execute a powerful visual design across all media channels, with the goal of building a memorable brand experience that’s deeply aligned with the company’s mission and values.
I design, develop, execute, and then work with clients in an ongoing coaching capacity to maintain and optimize their systems including conversion-focused brand messaging, sales-generating websites, landing pages, copywriting, social media channels, email marketing platforms, CRMs, PR and media opportunities, video editing and production, and digital courses and memberships. These strategies are all designed with the goal to nurture leads and maintain a more human-to-human approach so the audience feel seen, understood, and connected to the brand through every step of the customer journey.
This involves working with over fifty (50) remote clients, as well as leading a 100% remote team of independent contractors for projects including social media content repurposing, paid advertising strategy and implementation, etc.

Senior Branding + Creative Director
May 2013 – Jun 2018 (5 yrs 2 mos)
I worked closely with Business Unit managers and Product Managers to maintain a consistent and powerful messaging across all platforms of media including webpage layout and design, printed and digital advertisements, technical documentation, sales literature, app development, photography, illustration, videography, and event management.
- Managed Annual Budget of ~$615,000
Responsible for planning and executing budgeted items including: (1) print and digital advertising, (2) industry trade shows, hospitality, and networking events, (3) customer training conferences, and misc. marketing expenses like event apps, registration software, email marketing systems, website domains, landing pages, etc. These actions accounted for over 75% of total BU revenue, with the other ~25% coming from strategies within the sales team.
- Website Design / Content Management
Content management for ABB includes updating and maintaining website pages, image banks, document libraries, etc. I have taken the ABB Upstream portion of the site and updated the design to meet the new branding guidelines. This includes creating approximately 50 completely new pages to replace the old, outdated pages in the old CMS. - Advertising and Documentation
ABB’s branding guidelines are extremely strict. Each advertisement (printed or digital), data sheet, manual, promotional item, animated graphic, etc. must meet the requirements down to the millimeter. All advertisements are tracked and maintained through our lead generation systems to provide customers with the support they need. - Event Graphics
In addition to literature, examples of items created include trade show booth graphics, banner stands, outdoor signage, hanging signage, directional signage, etc. This process includes design, pre-production, printer coordination, shipping/delivery, assembly/disassembly and safe storage and handling of materials. - Event Management
Having a small marketing team has given many opportunities for expanding into corporate event planning. Along with the rest of the team, I have helped organize and execute multiple events from small industry trade shows to full training conferences with over 400 customers hosted by ABB.
In addition to the above marketing duties, I also supervised and coached our in-house team (3 members) of social media and video production contractors and interns to ensure proper brand representation.
